KeepHealthCare.ORG – 3rd annual Standup for the Cure to support women who need breast health services
MUSKEGON, Mich. – Stand up for the Cure (SUFTC) is back for another year.
The stand up paddleboard event is part of a series of nationwide events aimed at raising money to support local health systems that screen and treat breast cancer. SUFTC’s mission is to help women find breast cancer early (when it is most treatable) through education, awareness, screenings and research while building a supportive, compassionate community.
Since 2012 SUFTC been uniting paddlers, fitness enthusiasts, yoga practitioners and the breast cancer community from California to Florida and Michigan to Washington in an effort to save lives.
Standup for the Cure, alongside its national sponsor, Boardworks Surf and Barefoot Wine, and other sponsors Spectrum Health Cancer Center and Mercy Health, are excited to announce their third Muskegon event. The team will be led by Executive Director Dan Van Dyck and local Co-Chairs Shawn Taylor Norden and Dianne Hoofman. 13 ON YOUR SIDE is the media partner for this event.
Participants get instruction from top local paddleboard experts as well as free breast cancer and melanoma screening by Mercy Health, live music and a health and fitness expo. There will also be a festival with catered lunch, courtesy of KJ Catering, and beverages.
Last year, more than 700 people participated and more than $80,000 was raised.
