KeepHealthCare.ORG – ‘American Cancer Society’ bringing new breast cancer walk to Greenville
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – – The American Cancer Society is bringing a new event to the east to honor those battling breast cancer and celebrate survivors.
‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Eastern North Carolina is a brand new event coming to Greenville starting this fall.
Its goal is to raise awareness for breast cancer and remember those who lost their lives.
This walk is different from some of the others in our area because it’s focusing on breast cancer.
The next closest walk is in Raleigh.
Some breast cancer survivors feel this could help the thousands of people affected in Eastern North Carolina.
On top of the walk, the group also wants this to be an opportunity for people to connect.
“This is a great opportunity to get to network and to learn from each other’s experiences,” said Mandy Messerli, an organizer of the event and breast cancer survivor.
“We all might be diagnosed with breast cancer, but there’s also a bigger network of people.”
The actual event itself is happening October 27th at the Town Common in Greenville.
