KeepHealthCare.ORG – Area Health Education Center hosting young adult mental health conference
LAREDO, TX (KGNS) – The Area Health Education Center does a lot for our community in providing support and bringing awareness to various health issues.
The center is looking to host a community conversation on teen and young adult mental health issues.
Mental health is something that should always be talked about, especially when dealing with kids and young adults.
Experts say that half of all mental health issues start by age 14, and 75 percent at age 24.
Many times, teenagers might feel that they are depressed and that they do not have any one that they can reach out to.
AHEC wants community members to know that there is help and recovery is possible.
The event will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at the Border Region Behavioral Health Center located on 1500 Pappas Street.
The English session will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the Spanish Session will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
