KeepHealthCare.ORG – Sodus Point woman runs nearly 400 miles for breast cancer research, awareness
Sodus Point, N.Y. – A woman from Sodus Point celebrated a heartfelt homecoming after traveling more than 390 miles from Beantown to her hometown on her own two feet.
Davina McNaney has never backed down from a challenge. Her journey began last week, almost 400 miles away at Boston Harbor, running all the way from New England to her home town of Sodus Point – and enduring a brutal heat wave along the way.
Several years ago, Davina found out she had breast cancer. She was diagnosed after her first mammogram at the age of 40. She beat the disease and her survival became the inspiration for her next journey in life.
This was her second run to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Her husband, Steve, was beside her all the way on a journey to raise money, awareness and hope.
Davina has raised $43,000 running for breast cancer research, and she has been cancer-free for six years.
