My doctor recommended the keto diet for Hashimoto’s disease, but is my high blood pressure a problem?

However, if you switch to a ketogenic diet, you will need to work with your doctor to take your blood pressure medication. On a ketogenic diet, the body excretes more sodium instead of storing it, so sodium requirements are actually higher than on a standard diet.
How long does it take to get back into ketosis if I abuse carbs?
This is very individual and depends on the type and amount of carbohydrates consumed. It also depends on how long the person has been on the keto diet, or in other words, how well the person adapts to the keto diet. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days.
