I have tried all the different protein/keto drinks and have to say that the Bolthouse Farms Protein Keto Drinks are the only ones that do not disappoint. They fill me up and keep me full for hours. They are so good that I don’t even mind the occasional headache I get from the caffeine.
I’m a bit of an ice cream junkie (which is crazy because I’m not a huge ice cream fan), and one of my favorite flavors of ice cream is Bolthouse Farms’ Keto ice cream. I’ve been a fan of the brand for a while, and while Keto is by far not the first such low-carb or low-calorie ice cream on the market, it happens to be my go-to.
Need a quick keto breakfast, lunch or snack idea?
I don’t know about you, but I’m usually very busy in the morning. Between work and trying to get my kid out the door for school, I don’t have much time to make breakfast. I don’t drink coffee either (sorry, Colleen!), so I’m always looking for something simple to take with me.
I recently discovered these keto protein shakes from Bolthouse Farms in the grocery store and decided they were worth trying.
I had high hopes because their regular smoothies are so delicious (but very high in carbs), and I was hoping the same would be true for these keto versions. Does this low-carb option live up to the hype?
These keto protein shakes have so much flavor!
Bolthouse Farms KETO protein shakes come in seven different flavors, three of which are plant-based. I’ve seen these drinks at Kroger, Publix, Walmart, Sprouts, and Target in various sizes and for prices ranging from $2 to $4. At Kroger, they are often sold BOGO for free.
You can usually find them in the vegetable, dairy or deli section, along with other chilled shakes from Bolthouse Farms. I took six flavors that were available in my store for a taste test and let you know what I thought!

Serving size: 1 pack (15.2 oz) 280 calories 22 g fat 16 g total carbohydrates 2 g fiber 1 g sugar 11 g sugar alcohol 15 g protein 3 g net carbs
Ingredients: Coconut milk (water, coconut cream), milk protein isolate, erythritol, MCT oil, cocoa powder (alkali treated), sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, dipotassium phosphate, locust bean gum, gellan, sea salt, Reb M (stevia leaf extract).
I really liked this flavor and felt like I was drinking a thinner version of chocolate milk. Remember the YooHoo chocolate drinks that were popular in our childhood? It reminded me of this, but with a much richer flavor. I will definitely buy this perfume again! And that was definitely my second place.
I read a review on Walmart.com that said someone had a stomach ache after drinking this drink. I usually react to many keto foods with a sensitive stomach, but I had no problems with these drinks.
Serving size: 1 pack (15.2 oz) 280 calories 22 g fat 14 g total carbohydrates 0 g fiber 1 g sugar 11 g sugar alcohol 15 g protein 3 g net carbs
Ingredients: Coconut milk (water, coconut cream), milk protein isolate, erythritol, MCT oil, sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, dipotassium phosphate, locust bean gum, gellan gum, sea salt, Reb M (stevia leaf extract).
Bolthouse Protein Keto Coconut Drink has become a house drink for me! It’s really refreshing and adds a little sweetness. I would say that the consistency of this drink is a bit greasier than the other flavors. I will definitely buy this perfume again.
The coconut variety is my big winner among all the other flavors!
Serving Size: 1 pack – 15.2 oz | 280 calories | 22 g fat | 15 g total carbohydrates | 1 g fiber | 1 g sugar | 11 g sugar alcohol | 15 g protein | 3 g net carbs

First of all, let me say that I am one of the few people who does not drink coffee. But this coffee-flavored drink from Bolthouse Farms is sure to please if you love coffee. It has a rich coffee flavor and not that weird sweetener aftertaste.
Honestly, even though I’m not a coffee fan, I would drink this in a heartbeat again. PS – It tastes even better in my New Kids on the Block coffee cup!
Portion Size: 1 pack – 15.2 oz | 240 calories | 21 g fat | 15 g total carbohydrates | 2 g fiber | 1 g sugar | 11 g sugar alcohol | 12 g protein | 2 g net carbs
Ingredients: Coconut milk (water, coconut cream), pea protein, erythritol, MCT oil, sunflower lecithin, dipotassium phosphate, cinnamon, natural flavor, gellan gum, locust bean gum, sea salt, Reb M (stevia leaf extract).
The cinnamon horchata has become my favorite of all the vegetable flavors. There was no weird aftertaste and I felt like I was drinking the leftover milk from a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal. It was a nice variation in flavor, different from the chocolate varieties. In terms of taste, it comes just after chocolate.
Portion Size: 1 pack – 15.2 oz | 230 calories | 20 g fat | 16 g total carbohydrates | 3 g fiber | 1 g sugar | 11 g sugar alcohol | 12 g protein | 2 g net carbs
Ingredients: Coconut milk (water, coconut cream), pea protein, erythritol, MCT oil, contains 2% or less : Hazelnut oil, cocoa powder, sunflower lecithin, dipotassium phosphate, natural flavors, gellan gum, locust bean gum, sea salt, Reb M (stevia leaf extract), hazelnut.
The hazelnut spice caramel was just right for me. It’s not bad, but I was hoping it would taste like Nutella. The hazelnut flavor is rather muted in my opinion and has an earthy aftertaste. I don’t know how to explain it, but I can definitely say it’s plant-based, or at least different from the usual keto protein shake flavors.
Portion size: 1 jar – 15.2 oz 230 calories 19 g fat 15 g carbs 1 g fiber 1 g sugar 12 g protein 3 g net carbs

This truffle-flavored mocha didn’t taste good to me. You definitely taste the mocha flavor, and I have to say it’s more intense than the hazelnut caramel. I can’t explain what it is, but the spice versions just don’t taste the same, and they have an aftertaste that I don’t like.
Serving Size: 1 jar – 15.2 oz | 280 calories | 22 g fat | 15 g total carbohydrates | 2 g fiber | 1 g sugar | 11 g sugar alcohol | 15 g protein | 2 g net carbs
Ingredients: Coconut milk (water, coconut cream), milk protein isolate, erythritol, MCT oil, matcha green tea, sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, dipotassium phosphate, locust bean gum, gellan gum, ascorbic acid (vitamin C to preserve color), Reb M (stevia leaf extract).
Unfortunately, this scent wasn’t available in any of the stores I shop at, so I wasn’t able to do a taste test. The reviews on Target.com aren’t very complimentary of this flavor, I’m not a big matcha fan so I don’t know if I’ll like this flavor.
We know that many people consider these protein shakes to be gross for keto. Keep this in mind when you decide to add these drinks to your snack options.
I recommend buying these keto protein shakes as soon as possible!
I will definitely be adding these Bolthouse Farms KETO protein shakes to my rotation because they are delicious and would be a great meal replacement option when I am on the go. Plus, I didn’t have any stomach issues like I sometimes have with keto sweets, so this is a total win for me!
