The typical wonton wrappers, which are NOT low carb, are not used in this low carb egg roll in a bowl. Carbohydrates range from 4 to 8 grams per wrapper. Imagine eating three or four wrappers in one sitting. You’ll have over your daily net carb allowance before you realize it. Egg roll wrappers are likewise composed mainly of wheat flour. There is a little amount of egg in them, but they are mostly wheat, making them unsuitable for a low-inflammation diet like keto.

The most important thing to remember is that depending on whatever protein you select, you may need to add a few more components. This dish serves as a great starting point for adding any proteins you choose to your keto diet. To make one of our all-time favorite keto supper dishes right every time, follow these steps.

Garlic and ginger should be used

The ingredients that give this meal its Asian taste include garlic and ginger. We prefer using fresh garlic and ginger whenever feasible, although powdered versions will suffice.

Ginger root should be kept in the freezer. It will keep for 3-6 months in this manner, and you may grate it directly from the freezer into your meals.

The Best Coleslaw Mix

Pre-made coleslaw mix is available at most shops and is ideal for this meal. These typically include a variety of cabbage varieties as well as a few other veggies (usually carrots). If you can’t locate it, a whole head of cabbage and a couple of carrots would suffice. It should go without saying, but don’t purchase cabbage or coleslaw mix with a dressing…

Is it possible to be gluten-free and soy-free at the same time?

Switching out the soy sauce with coconut aminos is a great way to make this dish gluten and soy free. The sap of the coconut flower is fermented to produce coconut aminos. Although coconut aminos include sugar, the taste is so intense that just a few teaspoons are required.

To avoid wheat, pick up some gluten-free soy sauce, such as tamari, if you like classic soy sauce taste. Coconut aminos and soy sauce create a wonderful keto egg roll in a bowl in any case!

Spice it up a little

  • Cut fresh jalapeos with gloves or thoroughly wash your hands afterward. If you touch jalapeos after cutting them, you will get a burning sensation in your eyes.
  • Chili Garlic Sauce– Be warned, this stuff is hot! A little chili sauce goes a long way toward giving a low-carb egg roll a lot of flavor.

  • Coconut Aminos- This delicious coconut sap is guaranteed to deliver a punch in terms of taste and that sweet-spicy combination you’re looking for.
  • Liquid Stevia- A few drops of liquid stevia is all you need to sweeten the meal and achieve a nice balance.

Make Use of a Hot Skillet

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and a large pan to medium-high heat. When the pan is heated, add the ground pork. Break up the meat pieces with a spatula and cook all the way through.

  • Stir in the liquid aminos and chicken broth until everything is well combined.

  • In a separate bowl, mix the minced garlic, ground ginger, and sriracha. Allow for 1-2 minutes of cooking time while the liquid decreases.

  • Stir in 12 ounces of cabbage (we use basic cole slaw mix) until all of the cabbage is coated in the liquid and spices. Remove the cabbage from the heat after it has wilted to your satisfaction. If you want more crunch, mix the ingredients and remove from the heat right away; if you want less crunch, cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • If desired, drizzle with sesame oil and top with chopped scallions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
