I have a tendency to pick recipes with long ingredient lists, but when I saw this recipe I knew I had to make it because it was just the sort of recipe I would want to make. Quiche is a favorite comfort food of mine, so when I saw the ingredients, I knew this would be a keeper.

If you are already an avid keto-er, I know you are probably craving a keto quiche like I am. I feel the same way when I look at all the delicious keto recipes and then all the ones that don’t have any flakiness. I am going to show you step by step how to make the flakiest keto quiche.

I was recently asked to review a keto recipe book. It’s not that I hate carbs, it’s just that I’ve never found a keto recipe that I actually like. And then I came across the recipe for “Keto Quiche with Flaky Crust”. I’ve never made a quiche before, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Well, the old adage “the more you know” certainly rang true here!

Everyone grew up eating McDonald’s, so what better way to spice up breakfast than with a keto quiche prepared in the McGriddle style? While I grew up on McDonald’s orange juice, hash browns, and pancakes, Matt always got the McGriddle, and now that I’ve tried this dish, I feel like I’ve been missing out!

Make A Keto Quiche With A Simple Crust:

While preparing a quiche may seem simple, the aim with this keto quiche recipe is to get a smooth and creamy egg finish. The savory bacon and cheese, creamy eggs, and sweet, thick crust make this the ideal way to start any morning with the family. Follow the instructions below to make the ideal keto quiche in the McGriddle style!

Discover the Ideal Low-Carb Crust

In every recipe, a good foundation is essential, and this one asks for a delicious low-carb crust. A crust is required when attempting to make a healthier, tastier version of the McDonalds McGriddle. So we dug out our tried-and-true, sweet and thick low-carb pie crust and used it to create your new favorite keto dish! If you want to get ahead on this keto quiche, you can simply prepare the pie crust ahead of time and freeze it for up to a month or refrigerate it for up to three days. It just takes around 30 minutes!

To make the quiche filling, combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Finding the proper ratio of egg to heavy cream is the secret to a great quiche filling, and I promise you’ll be surprised at what that ratio is. I initially believed that using more eggs would be the greatest option, but I’ve since realized that a larger part of the filling should be composed of heavy cream. This gives the filling a creamier, softer texture. A 4:1 ratio creates the ideal filling foundation without overwhelming the other components with egg taste.

Keep the add-ons as simple as possible.

All that’s left to do now is select your add-ins before we put it all together. Some people prefer to go all out, and I’m one of them, but we kept it basic with crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese in our McGriddle replica. The slightly sweet crust and creamy filling, as well as the salty bacon and cheese, are all enhanced by keeping it simple. The ideal filling ratio is between two and three add-ins. It highlights all of the various tastes and textures evenly and won’t overload your taste senses!

The Appropriate Amount Of Cheese

If you’re making a quiche with four big eggs, like this keto quiche, you’ll need just the correct amount of cheese, which is precisely one cup. It not only adds a lot of taste, but it also gives the finished product the ideal “mouth feel.” When you’ve been cooking quiches incorrectly for a long time, knowing the keys to a perfect quiche makes all the difference!

Assemble your Low-Carb Quiche in no time.

Now comes the exciting part. So you’ve put your crust in the bottom of your pie dish and punched holes in it or added a weight to the top. If you don’t use pie weights, you’ll need to poke holes in the crust to keep it from rising and breaking. After the crust has cooked and cooled, layer your add-ins in the bottom and pour the cream and egg mixture on top. For family and friends, bake, chill, and slice. That’s all there is to it! Note: Quiches are one of the simplest and most stunning breakfast or gathering dishes to offer. For a complete breakfast spread, combine this dish with our Keto Bagles and Cauliflower Hash Browns.

Close your eyes and imagine your pre-keto, McDonald’s eating days with the mix of creamy, cheesy eggs, a sweet crust, and a drizzle of maple syrup! We’ve tried making quiches before, but they’ve always come out dry and lacking in content. If you want to give them a try, switch out the original pie crust with our enhanced low carb savory crust and adjust the egg to cream ratios on our low carb quiches!

Our Keto Quiche combines a creamy filling and a sweet crust for the perfect remake of everyones favorite breakfast sandwich, the McGriddle from McDonalds's!

  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until the crust is light brown. Allow to cool after removing from the oven. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
